Soft Lights, Sweet Music LIVE!    TJO's first Compact Disc captures the band in performance, in concerts taped in 1999 and 2000.  The nine selections include one original, by orchestra member Dave Wild.  The CD showcases TJO's fiery playing, crisp professionalism and wide-ranging command of the jazz idiom.

What The Critics Say....

"...from two live concerts in 1999 and 2000 by 18- and 19-piece, brassy ensembles that know how to swing and how to inject humor into their presentations.".   --Harvey Siders, The JazzTimes Jazz Education Guide, 2002-2003, page 88

"On first hearing, Soft Lights, Sweet Music left me shaking my head in disbelief. How, I wondered, could a Jazz ensemble from a two–year college in an undersized east–central Texas town possibly be that good? Something in the drinking water, perhaps?...whatever the reason, there’s no doubting that the TJO is a remarkably accomplished ensemble that plays with surprising power and finesse....this is a sharp and swinging big–band session from a wholly unexpected source that is easily recommended." -- Jack Bowers, All About Jazz (http://www.allaboutjazz.com)
