TEMPLE JAZZ ORCHESTRA FEATURING GORDON GOODWIN
The Temple Jazz Orchestra's fourth CD captures TJO live in performance with jazz superstar Gordon Goodwin. Gordon plays saxophone and piano on this program of all-Goodwin arrangements. TJO and Goodwin were caught live at the Eighteenth Annual Temple Jazz Festival. The program includes classic Goodwin charts like Count Bubba's Revenge, Whodunnit?, Swingin' for the Fences, and Hunting Wabbits2, along with the premiere of a composition commissioned especially for the concert, Who You Calling Predictable? TJO rises to the challenge with precision, power, and plenty of strong solos--there's even a three-way duel between Gordon and TJO pianists Ben Irom and Dave Wild on Swingin'.
