Bill Watrous with the Temple Jazz Orchestra Live!    Trombonist Bill Watrous has had a long and impressive career in jazz, playing with groups small and large, from Woody Herman and Count Basie through his own ensembles (Manhattan Wildlife Refuge).  But even Bill was impressed by the fiery performance of the Temple Jazz Orchestra at the 2003 Temple Jazz Festival.  With superb trumpets focused by the exceptional lead playing of Rob Sanders, powerful trombones, a fleet-fingered saxophone section, and a full head of rhythm-section steam stoked by the brothers Wild (Dave on piano, Ken on bass), Michael Morris on drums and Reese Liles on guitar, TJO nearly left burn marks on the auditorium walls as it blazed through the demanding program.   Director Tom Fairlie had no trouble convincing Bill that the performance should be released as a CD.

From Bill's liner note comments: "The band was amazing and the material was a lot of Gordon Goodwin's charts, which are the absolute hardest and best of the bunch...I was blown away by the way Tom's band took charge of the material...I had a ball!!!!"
